Dorcas is a platform for SMEs (Small & Medium Enterprises) with the aim of bringing together simple services, that they
use in the daily running of their businesses.
What Dorcas seeks to achieve by doing this is to become the one-stop location for small businesses that want need a
myriad of application for doing business; and that's where developers come in.
What you Get
As a developer, building your application for Dorcas removes the need of getting the product to potential
users/customers. Dorcas Hub has an App Store, where SMEs can install available apps, and later access them when
they need to.
Applications can either be:
- Free: apps that are given to users for free.
- Paid: paid apps support one-off, and subscription type payments.
What is available?
Dorcas presents endpoints that allow you to "on behalf of the authenticated SME" do the following:
- Manage Customers, Customer Groups, Custom Contact Fields
- Manage a Store, Inventory
- Manage Sales, and e.t.c.
As a developer, you can integrate with these endpoints to simplify your work; you can equally wor with your own
database to accomplish what you want.
What can you build
The ball is in your court at this point; feel free to build whatever tools you feel will be useful for SMEs, or other
developers like yourself, taking advantage of what the Dorcas API provides.
You can build:
- Web applications
- Mobile applications
- Desktop applications, and even
- CLI applications.
